The purpose of this project is to analyze and synthesize the rhetorical arguments, disciplinary conventions and information distribution that makes up the field of Elementary Education. To better understand the specialized discourse of this field, one must critically analyze how information is relayed, presented and talked about. This project will highlight observations about knowledge and information determining how expertise, research and evidence are valued and displayed throughout the discourse community. The project will  offer insight into relevant articles surrounding the field, particularly, the argument on the importance of evidence- based proof to encourage an equitable teaching environment. The discourse revolving around the conversation of equity in the classroom has become prevalent within the past fifteen years and various studies, reports and articles analyze the importance of this modernistic teaching practice. In order to further understand the current discourse about this argument, we will first analyze how it is set up and talked about within the Elementary Education discourse community.
